This has to be close to the
top in terms of an overall pleasant and mind-blowing experience
as I've had in any place in Mumbai. Poush is adorned with
traditional Shikaras for seating (traditional looking cane
and teak tables and chairs available too), nice lighting,
and traditional Kashmiri music playing on the system. Before
even getting a menu, one of the Poush staff comes to your
table and pours warm water out of a silver flask into a
bowl while you wash your hands - your first clue that you
will soon experience all around amazing service.
The dishes truly taste different than your normal North
India fare - and although some of the dishes have common
names (Rajmah), they have a very unique and distinct taste.
Don't miss the Razmah and the Nadier Palak (Spinach w/Lotus
Roots). For dessert, opt for the Shufta, a sweet concotion
of dried fruits and nuts marinated in a warm saffron syrup.
Not a meat eater, but their meat dishes do sound delicious
for the carnivores out there.
This place would rock for an evening with your best buddies
(they have hookah too) or as a date place as well. |

Being a kashmiri myself,
i wasn’t sure what to xpect at Poush: Essence of
Kashmir.
However I was pleasantly surprised to see the place, the
real sized house-boat, the shikaras the restaurant which
is quite a unique one to say the least.
Now to the real thing, Food:
honestly no Kashmiri likes
to eat kashmiri food outside coz it does not even come
close to what we know kashmiri food is.(e.g. Kashmiri
Dum-Alloo that is served across the city)
However I was once again amazed at the menu and then
the food, it came very close to what you could expect
at home.
The starters were good my favourite being the kabar-gaha.
The main course as usual is the real Kashmiri food.
Especially the Ghostaba and the Roganjosh were the ones
to cherish, also the Biryani is Delicious.
I am not a veggie but my frnds enjoied the veg food as
well……and going by the taste of Poush’s
non-veg food I am pretty sure the veg food must b gr88888.
All this at very reasonable cost as well... arnd Rs 500/Hd
Way to go.....Now I don’t need to go to Kashmir
since I have 1 very close to me in Mumabi itself…. |

This place serves tasty authentic
Kashmiri food with such a good service that can only come
from the heart of true a Kashmiri. You can even sit inside
a Shikara and have your meal.
We started this exotic food journey with a Qawah (Kawah). Its a herbal tea drink,
made with cinnamon, cardamom, saffron and almonds. I would highly recommend that
you start and end your meal with a Qawah. Its the most tasty tea I've had ever!
As recommended by the owner, I went in for a Kashmiri Thali. It consisted of
bowls of dum aloo, rajma, brinjal (eggplant), Paneer subzi & spinach and
lotus root subzi. Just loved the rajma and dum aloo.
If going to Kashmir is a far shot for you, I recommend visiting this place just
for its food, service and the shikara.
For those who were wondering, "Poush" means flower in Kashmiri. |

Totally amazing stuff - Amazing
place. Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing ambience.
I
headed to this place after reading what Deap and Anand
already wrote about Poush. Thanks to both of them. My
idea of going to this place - Fight with your girl in
the morning and take her to Poush in the evening ;)!
Make sure that you reserve your Shikara before visiting
this place by calling on the numbers above. |

This place serves authentic
Kashmiri food. It gets full points for service, food and
the ambience. I mean, c'mon where else can you find a shikara
in Mumbai and that too away from the noise and pollution?
The atmosphere of this place is pure bliss. (see the photo
slide show and you will know what I am talking about)
I was here a few days ago celebrating a friend's birthday. I don't quite remember
the name of the thali I had, but do remember that I had shufta for dessert. It
was served warm and had a ton of dry fruit pieces in a sugary syrup. It is a
must-have.
Also, don't forget to have Kashmiri herbal tea called Qawah.
ps, I think I have a crush on the owner. He is too cute. |

They have three or four real
shikaras and the Kashmiri food here is awesome too. Though,
this is actually a perfect place to go after dinner. As
someone may have already mentioned in earlier reviews,
Qawah is traditional Kashmiri Tea. Its nothing like our
normal tea, and is made with zaffron, cardimom, almonds,
etc.. .Have Qawah and shoofta for dessert. The portions
are just right and the tea will actually help you get a
good nights sleep.. :)
So next time u're out on a drive after dinner, stop by at Poush and check out
how a tiny little restaurant gets a perfect 10 in food, ambience and service. |

I had eaten here before but
i really wanted to take my wife to this place, was confident
she would absolutely love it! Last evening, luckily both
of us were in Andheri for work so we decided to eat at
Poush. We settled inside the shikara which is the best
part of this place its so comfortable, you can stretch
your legs till your food arrives.
We had a tough time deciding what to eat- coz everything on the menu looked amazing.
The manager very patiently hung around helping us with the description of the
various dishes. He recommended we go for the packaged meal, which was an assortment
of various kashmiri dishes. Great decision coz we got to taste about 5 authentic
kashmiri dishes - don't remember any of the names, though. The thali came with
a starter, 3 meat preparations, a raita, a dessert, and Qawah (authentic kashmiri
tea- this is just amazing totally refreshing). The dessert was the only downside
of the meal, I am sure they didn't prepare it in house.
I recommend that you only have rice with any kashmiri food as its meant to be.
It just doesn't go well with Indian bread.
All in all, a super experience- like every other reviewer i too give it full
marks for the vibe, food and and an extra star for the most pleasant & friendly
staff. |

well i went to this place
with a friend of mine recently, while i was in mumbai,
and he would kill me when he reads this review...
and its quite hard for me write an average review after
5 others have given it 5 stars each. however in all the
reviews i noticed that everyone raved about the shikaras & the
service. i'll give to you, the shikaras idea, awesome dude...
the service and the mannerisms, really great .. but the
food .. well it was at best ordinary kashmiri food. at
least on the day i had them.
i am no food connoisseur, but i've had authentic kashmiri
food twice in my life, both were in delhi haat , in a food
festival (a kashmiri food festival), on two days in a row.
The gustabha and the dum aloo i had at Poush was nothing
, when compared to what i had at delhi haat.
but then again, to be completely fair, the food was not
bad. and the qawah was actually amazing. the total experience
is worth it, you've got to go there and have your food
in a shikara. (if you havent been or planning to go to
kashmir) .. its a great experience altogether. |

Poush happened to be a alternative
for us. We had headed towards Myst nearby, but the queue
seemed to be unending. With nobody having patience, we
decided to try the Kashmiri palate!!
Poush, as other reviewers talked about gets its maximum
points for the unique setting because of Shikaras.....!
We chose the biggest one and we all sat comfortably.
The place doesn't serve liquor. We requested the manager
to arrange some....to all our surprise, he readily agreed!!!
Probably, he expected a low turn-around courtesy Ind-Aus
match :) And wanted to make most from the customers who
walked in.
The place doesn't play any music. So, the experience becomes
very bland. One can expect good food and great service
though. And the menu seems reasonably priced. Couple that
with the savings we made on alcohol (we got all drinks
at MRP!!!), it was a real value for money.
Recommended when you just want to grab some food. If you
plan an evening out with friends over drinks, dinner and
music, you may be in for a disappointment. |

POUSH at Krishna garden
resort the island of peace and tranquility away from
the hassles of city life. 4 acres of lush-green and swaying
palm trees. A place free from pollution and noise.POUSH
is situated about 10kms from Dahisar Check Naka on the
Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.POUSH offer the best of facilities
like the swimming pool, great ambiance and food. The
well furnished rooms and the special Log hut and tree
house. The atmosphere of this place is pure bliss. (see
the photo slide show and you will know what I am talking
about)
As you enter the restaurant, you see shikaras and Houseboat
(wooden boats in which you can sit and eat) placed all
over, curtains blowing gently with the breeze. We had
the Roganjosh (red mutton gravy), Goshtaba (spongy meat
balls cooked in a curd based gravy), Ruwangan Kokur (chicken
pan fried and cooked in a tomato and onion gravy), Dum
Aloo (boiled potatoes deep fried and cooked in a red
hot gravy on slow fire), Tsok Wangun (brinjal deep fried
and cooked in a tamarind gravy) and rajma, which is to
die for. All in all, a super experience-i give it full
marks for the vibe, food and and an extra star for the

Romantic Getaway from busy city life. |

This is totally the place to
unwind and indulge with your partner in this blissful serenity.
Really a good getaway from the busy irritating city. Place
is really for the hopeless romantics that wanna bond with
their soulmates. Yup! i am indeed one of em. This is the
kinda place where instead of the usual 'stay in the room
with your sweetie routine and just make out', really does
not apply coz theres so much greenery and serenity outdoors
that you just cannot only stay in your room. Believe me,
this was the 1st place where me and my sweetheart actually
saw fireflies at night near our log hut garden. There were
two or three but that is very rare (you know what i mean).
We stayed in the log hut room which was really amazing and so pretty that it
was unlike any place we ever been to when we wanted to spend time alone & it
has your own private garden with your own little tree house. Am uploading some
pics taken out from my phone so you know why we really had a swell time. The
log hut was an amazing experience and in spite of being completely out of wood,
the rain does not get in. Gosh, but in the night...... you can hear the craziest
sounds of insects and........well i wouldn't know at all coz we did not step
out in the dark coz being like a jungle you really wouldn't even know if there
were snakes out there. Our bathroom had this odd looking tiger striped lizard
which really freaked me out. There are huge ass lizards around the place like
gigantic or maybe like an iguana, don't say i didn''t warn you. So the best is
to lock yourself inside and totally connect with your mate (wink wink).
Its indeed famous for the well known "POUSH" restaurant which serves
true Kashmir's food and is decorated in the same way. The staff was very hostile
and kind. What do you expect visiting places like these, it had a lot of weird
insects and peculiar looking flies but thats taken care of with the incenses
to shun them away. Food specially the biryani is just totally divine. By default
just try that for lunch or dinner.
Well, enough said now. Go take out your mates you love sick puppies. |
